Flag Ceremony - Cypress City Council
The group will perform the flag salute at the Cypress City Council meeting on Monday, March 23rd. All girls must wear a proper uniform for the event. Red polo shirt with black or navy pants (no jeans). We want to look our best when we represent Camp Fire USA in the community. We will meet at Stanford at 6:00 p.m. to carpool to the City Hall. We should be back at Stanford by 7:30 p.m.
Spring Break Camp Available
Camp Fire USA will offer a day camp during spring break April 13-17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $120 for all five days or $90 for 3 days. Program Activities include: cooking over the campfire, rock climbing, archery, arts and crafts, outdoor education, sports, and games. Contact Camp Fire USA at 421-2725.
Project Groundbreakers Workshop
A workshop will be held at the Council Lodge on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to train camp fire leaders and parents in native gardening and planting techniques. Two community volunteers who work on the redesigned front yard at the Lodge will be on hand to train us how to take care of native plants and gardens. Please RSVP to Marci at Camp Fire at 421-2725.
Dads and Discovery Kids Game Night
All Discovery Level Girls and Boys bring their Dad, uncle, grandfather or special family friend to the Council Lodge on Saturday, Apri 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. There will be an all-you-can-eat dinner and lots of games and fun for all. Please RSVP to Charlene by Friday March 27th. Cost of $10 per person (to be paid by club).

Candy Sale Celebration at Skate Depot
Come skate with your friends and family and celebrate the end of a successful candy fundraiser. Thursday, March 5 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. This is private party. Admission by pre-sale ticket only. Charlene has purchased tickets for the group.

Long Beach City Council Flag Ceremony
Three group members attended the Long Beach City Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 to lead the pledge of allegiance. Anna Guilford, Ariana Black, Shannon Wynne led the flag salute at the start of the meeting and then were presented with a proclamation from the Mayor of Long Beach, Bob Foster, commemorating Camp Fire USA's 99th Birthday. The group presented a birthday cake to the mayor and city council. And Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske thanked Camp Fire for its youth programs. The entire council meeting is taped and broadcast on local cable channel 8 and available on the city website as well at www.longbeach.gov. Check us out!
